The two parties discussed strategic development directions for future collaboration

VietinBank’s sustainable finance strategies and policies align well with Keppel’s development goals. As a provider of innovative and sustainable solutions across various sectors, Keppel leverages its advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, proprietary technologies and platforms to optimize energy management, enhanced operational efficiency, and deliver green development solutions.

Keppel is a pioneer district cooling service provider in Singapore, and is rapidly expanding its cooling solutions to the rest of Asia, in countries such as China, India, Thailand and Vietnam. Currently, Keppel has a total cooling portfolio of more than 260,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT) in Asia (including projects under development) and is involved in various sustainable energy projects across Asia Pacific and Europe. The collaboration will also leverage Keppel’s Operations Nerve Centre in Vietnam, which utilises advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to manage energy operations in real-time.

The collaboration will explore the development of projects, such as Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS), renewable energy generation and storage systems, waste-to-energy (WTE), water management, and other energy efficiency solutions, which will support the reduction of carbon emissions for Vietnam. Keppel will lead the design and implementation of such projects with VietinBank committing to provide green financing and diverse fund sources.

VietinBank and Keppel EaaS Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

In 2024, VietinBank and Keppel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MOU reflects the strong, concerted efforts of both parties toward a shared vision of green economic development. Looking ahead, we believe that this collaboration will create opportunities for cooperation to enhance financial capacity, strengthen competitiveness, and leverage each party’s strengths, driving mutual, sustainable growth in the years to come.

A representative of VietinBank stated: As one of the leading banks with extensive experience in financing and sponsoring sustainable development projects in Vietnam, VietinBank has contributed to enhancing the financial capacity of projects and facilitating access to co-financing opportunities from diverse financial sources. Until the end of 2024, VietinBank's total Green Credit Outstanding Balance is expected to reach nearly 1.8 billion USD for more than 1,000 customers, including projects related to renewable energy development, water treatment, waste treatment, etc.
