After 10 transformation years, VietinBank’s entire retail business maintained its continuous growth rate. In the past 5 years, average outstanding balance of retail banking increased by 19%/p.a., number of average retail customers climbed up by 16%/p.a. Simultaneously, the bad debts of retail customers were also maintained at low controlled level, less than 1%, ensuring the credit quality within the bank's set safety threshold.
In order to obtain the above achievement, VietinBank always set forth the challenging goals and aspiration by years to improve the customer experience via Digital Transformation Project. Since now till the end of 2028, digitalization for all retail operations shall be launched to serve any customers with an increasingly high quality.
Changes in human resources quality, customer care and sale thinking are also made. With the “customer-centered” philosophy, any customer requirements are also received, processed and timely released with products and services to satisfy any demands.

The offerings were gradually digitalized and online conducted on VietinBank iPay Mobile with over 150 features and utiltiies, enabling the customers to open account via eKYC identifier, inter-banking cash withdrawal by QR Code without card, face recognition-based payment or biometric verification system to help the customers to easy transact at counter or citizen identification card-based cash withdrawal, etc. All offerings were integrated and provided on an unique application - VietinBank iPay Mobile.
In order to attract new customers and rejuvenate VietinBank image in the eyes of customers in 2023, the “Profitable” Life Campaign was launched and significantly echoed in the Finance and Banking Industry. This was the first campaign of VietinBank to be named on TOP 4 of the most successful and interested social media campaigns in May 2023. VietinBank was also the first bank of Big 4 to launch a big and comprehensive campaign in companion with the famous artists to offer the “profit” to the customer community.
In order to treasure the customer loyalty, on January 20, 2024, the “Profitable” Life Concert was launched by VietinBank in Ho Chi Minh City, gathering a huge cast of Vietnamese showbiz stars such as Den Vau, Ha Anh Tuan, Toc Tien, JustaTee, Phuong Ly, Wren Evans, etc. With total 25,000 free tickets offered to VietinBank’s loyal customers using products and services.
