According to Decision No. 2345/QĐ-NHNN, starting from July 1, 2024, when conducting some online transactions, customers of banks are required to authenticate using facial biometrics that correctly match the data stored in the chip of the Citizen ID card (CCCD) to ensure safe transactions and avoid deception, fraud and asset confiscation by criminals. 

Biometrics is a technology that minimizes fake thanks to its high safety and security features available so far. 

At VietinBank, transactions that are required to authenticate using facial biometrics as per the provisions of NHNN are as follows:

• Money transfer transactions of  over 10 million VND/transaction or accumulated total of over 20 million VND/day
• Payment transactions of over 100 million VND/transaction or accumulated total of over 100 million VND/day
•  First transaction on VietinBank iPay Mobile application 
• Changing the mobile device when using the VietinBank iPay Mobile app

To ensure meeting the requirements and avoiding transaction interruptions, you are recommended to re-register your face again or update your face using the CCCD with Chip if you have not registered facial biometrics yet or have registered it but not via the CCCD with Chip.

Here are the steps to do it:

• S1: Log in to the VietinBank iPay application
• S2: Select Profile (Avatar)
• S3: Select “Facepay Settings”
• S4: Take photos of the front, back of the CCCD with Chip & your face
• S5: Collect information from the CCCD with chip by placing the CCCD close to the bottom of the mobile phone, moving from top to bottom to find the chip reading location. When the mobile phone vibrates, keep the CCCD and the mobile phone in place.
• S6: Complete reading the information on the CCCD with Chip, select “Register Biometrics  & Update Profile”
